Tuesdays with Morrie Audiobook by Mitch Albom— narrated by Mitch Albom
Tuesdays with Morrie is Mitch Albom's account of reconnecting with Morrie Schwartz, his old college professor, who is dying of ALS. Their weekly Tuesday conversations about death, family, regret and forgiveness make a short, warm, easy-to-finish memoir of what a life is for.
Why the audiobook wins
Mitch Albom reads his own book, so the student arriving for each Tuesday visit is the same man telling you about it. The writing is plain and warm, and Morrie's answers are short and personal, which suits one voice speaking them to you.
At just under four hours, it fits a single evening or a few short drives. Each visit has its own topic, from fear and aging to forgiveness, so the book falls naturally into sittings. Plenty of readers get through it in a day. The ending is sad but gentle.
One Audible credit covers the whole book. It asks little of you beyond listening, and it tends to send people thinking about who is still in their corner.
