Annihilation
by Jeff VanderMeer
Jeff VanderMeer's Annihilation drops four unnamed women into Area X, a stretch of coast where nature has swallowed civilization and the laws of biology have gone quietly wrong. The Nebula-winning opener of the Southern Reach trilogy is eerie, hypnotic literary science fiction that prizes dread and atmosphere over tidy answers.
