The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
by Douglas Adams
Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy sends Arthur Dent, a befuddled Englishman, hurtling into space just before Earth is demolished for a galactic freeway. It is a short, absurd science fiction comedy that skewers bureaucracy, politics and the meaning of life, and it works best when you let it ramble.
