Theo of Golden
by Allen Levi
Theo of Golden by Allen Levi is uplifting small-town literary fiction about an 86-year-old stranger who buys pencil portraits of the locals and gives them back for the price of a story. It's a slow, lyrical, tender debut novel about generosity and grief, best read in small doses.
