That repetition is deliberate, and it suits a listen better than it suits a sofa and a highlighter. Jonathan Todd Ross reads at a steady clip and declines to dramatize the case studies, which is right for a book whose force comes from numbers rather than scenes.
One honest note before you spend the credit. The middle section on measuring noise leans on tables and worked examples, and a few of those are harder to hold by ear than on the page. The remedies in the final third and the three appendices are the practical payload, and those carry fine out loud.
