Why the audiobook wins
Foundation is not one story but a sequence of them, jumping decades between sections as the Empire declines on schedule. That episodic shape is awkward on the page and natural in audio, where each part plays like an installment and Scott Brick's steady register carries the through-line between them.
Asimov wrote this as argument more than action. Men in rooms talking their way out of a crisis that mathematics said was coming. Brick is very good at making a room full of talk sound like a fight, and psychohistory, which could easily be a lecture, comes across as the loaded weapon Asimov meant it to be.
